    Hi guys.

I have done a search for bluetooth kits on here and getting various info. Can anyone recommend what i should install. Ive got mk5 golf, 06 plate. I want everything hidden away as well so just wondered what i would need, and leads etc.

Do things need changing with vag to get it working etc and does the golf already have a microphone under the holes near the glasses holder??

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you :-)

    Chris.

Loads of different kit out there to buy. I purchased a VW Bluetooth Touch Kit, uses the speakers in my Eos, but had a small touch screen where you select to take the call or not. It also has my phonebook downloaded to select if I'm making a call.

The golf hasn't got a mircophone above your head, so that will have to be intalled.

I've fitted both Parrot and Nokia kits, both work okay and I prefer them to the expensive VW Premium Bluetooth kit in my Passat. Both work through the car speakers if the correct interface lead is used. Both work with the full voice dialing capabilities of your phone if it has it. I much prefer this to having the directory on display, which is soooo dangerous to scroll through when you are driving. Voice dial every time for me.

For Nokia, you need an Autoleads 06-116B lead. I fitted one in the Golf yesterday (after taking out a single DIN head unit with bluetooth and putting back the original radio). Only thing showing with a Nokia kit is the small answer/call/volume button which you can locate where you want. Mine is at the base of the gear lever.

If you have a car with multifuction steering wheel I'd recommend the Parrot CK3000 Evo or CK3100. This can be fitted with their MultiCAN module (about £50), which gives you full functionality of the phone and volume buttons. If you use this with the CK3000 then there is nothing on show at all, it just seems like a factory fit. Can't remember which Autoleads you need, but it should be easy to find on t'interweb.

If you use a Nokia kit (or just spend a few quid on a Nokia microphone) you can break open the little case, extract the innards and they fit perfectly inside the original VW microphone location above your head. Nothing showing and the microphone doesn't start dangling when the adhesive pad loses its mojo. It's a bit of a pig to thread the cable behind the airbag in the A-pillar, make sure you disconnect the battery before starting. Also, thread some foam sleeve on the mic cable where it goes through the headlining, otherside it rattles on the roof.

Whatever you fit, be aware that you will have to get a separate switched live ingition feed for the kit, because there isn't one available at the back of the radio. Options are either from the cigar lighter socket or direct from the fuse box. Make sure you use an in-line fuse if stuffing a spade in the fusebox.

Shop around for leads and kits, there is massive variation in price.

    Hello cheers for reply.

Well I have an Iphone so will the nokia one work with this!? It sounds quite good if you can do the voice dialling. If it will work I know I'm asking a lot but could you tell me exactly what I would need to order including leads so I can't get it wrong. I'm bound to order somthing wrong otherwise.

Help much appreciated thank you. :-)

ps: you mentioned removing the existing microphone and putting one in it's place, why is there an existing microphone there with no phone kit?? Cheers.

I would recoment the fiscon kit everytime. I had a parrot in my Golf before upgrading to the fiscon jobby and i think it is great.

    http://www.fiscon.co.uk/fiscon-bluetooth-kits.html

Its a bit more expensive than most though.
