    Hi Guys

For a while now, my 04 2.0 FSI (AXW engine code) has been having problems and to cut a long story short - it has all come down to a faulty ECU.

Took my car to an indy who specialises in Audi. They got me a new ECU fitted it etc but they have had issues with "matching" the ECU to the immobliser (Immo 4). So last week it was taken up to the dealer who I got a phone call from today explaining that they too were having trouble with the matching process.

"Crasher" gave me details of my ECU and a unit that replaced it after production, and Im wondering whether the indy has ordered the original part and not the newer repalcement - hence the difficulties in matching the immo4 to the repalcement ECU. Is that a possibility?! Really stuck and frustrated that an ECU replacement has taken 2 weeks now- 2 whole weeks without my beloved A3

Any ideas, suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Shane

Do you know what issues they're having? It's the sort of thing we should be able to sort out for you.

Do you still have the old ECU?

If you sent both ECUs up to us (and the ECU numbers are the same/correct), we should be able to match them up for you so you can just plug the new one in and away you go.

    hi mate!

thanks for the reply. do you think the incorrect ecu is tryingto be matched up then? the ecu was ordered by the indy you see and not the dealers. like i said crasher said the original unit was replaced after production. im going to call the dealers today and see how i get on.

just out of interest - what prices you charge to clone the ecu? and also will there be issues if the older ecu is cloned to a newer replacement? (the new replacement having a different ecu number)

firstly i apologise for hijacking this thread .

@ shark . the problem i have shark is .i no longer have the original ecu , the dumbass at the garage where i work went ahead and put the ecu to the reconditioning pile without telling anyone and while i was away ill .it was sold on .

so now i need an ecu with the 03G906016FF number or an ecu that has a full bdm write done with the correct software .

the only thing i possess from the ecu is the correct immo dump from the 95320 eprom .

which i was hoping to source an ecu and the write the immo dump back to it .

ive since found out its easier to find hens teeth !

that not a problem hollow, i don't mind.

went to dealer this afternoon and spoke to their service rep. they said the problem they are having is that the clocks do not recognise the ECU.

he said that it is a possibility that the clocks faulty as well? he also stated that the car would need to be plugged in to the net where Audi Germany could issue the correct codes etc. unfortunately their connection is down and it wont be till Tuesday when the IT guy comes along that it will be fixed. grrrrrrr

thats obviously a problem , anything audi do has to be connected online these days .

there is a few companys , i presume shark is one of them .who can access the data needed from the ecu and the clocks and rematch them .

i just need to find the information to check if i can bdm whole whole contents of my correct ecu (can get data ) onto the one installed in the car now .

i doubt your clocks are faulty , i know from experience that sometimes the clocks and ecu dont like to pair up even with the correct skc codes . i think its just audi a3 cars full stop .

ive since started to call mine christine ,sure its possesed

I don't think that it's an incorrect ECU necessarily, but cloning your old ECU to the new one shouldn't be a problem at all as I can do a 1:1 clone.

I can ask around.. I can't believe that your old ECU was thrown out like that. There are a couple of people I know who may have one. I'll get on to it next week.
