    Hi there,
I have got an A6 C5 estate and I have bought 2x 9" monitors with DVD players. all the cables are going through the headrest poles and I need to run them through the seats. I tried to run a draw wire, no success.

Is there any easy way to run the cables from the headrest poles to the bottom of a seat? Do I need to unbolt the seat from the car? Can back part of the seat (with small items net) can be disconnencted somehow from the main seat?

    Kindest regards

    Hi,

Big Col did a detailed writeup of how to retro-fit seat heaters in his A6 C5 Avant a while ago. If memory serves, he included pics of how the seats could be dismantled, which may give you some pointers to what's required to get your cables installed in the seats.

His original post is here: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=79203

    Good luck!

The rear of the seat is removeable with the seat in the car. PM me your year and model and seat type and your email address and I'll send you the data. Regards Peter

Hi mate, thank you for reply.
I have less than 10 posts, so I can't send PMs yet. Sorry!
I have got an Audi A6 estate, 2001 pre-facelift model with 1.8T 150KM and manual 5 speed gearbox. The front seats don't have the lumbar support, just electric height adjustment and tilt on the big knob. There are airbags in front seats. Im hoping these are all the data you will need.

    Thank you for your support

I have received it, this is what I was looking for. I knew that Audi used that stupid clips which are so easy to break, but now I know where they are - so it should not be too difficult.

I also removed my email address. Thank you for reminder - and first of all - for a professional approach to my problem. I will write a PM and a post in here to let you know if I was successful.

    Regards,

    Hi Mike,
Basically you have to get head down in rear footwell, take a light out off the seat than pry the back of a seat off gently and look for a yellow clips - torch will came in handy - then unclip them with small flat head screwdriver, once done get out and pull seat backing right down. Assembly in reverse order.

Pm me with your email address for a schematic drawing
