Hi, has anyone experienced any of the plastic undertray on their T5 dropping off.
A large part of the nearside tray fell off mine and caused consequential damage to the associated fixings in the mating component, and the aluminium heat reflective panel by the exhaust.
The van is less than 1 year old, and I have never had this happen on any other vehicle.
It seems to me that the fixings are not up to the job to withstand daily use eg vibration of going over manholes drains etc.
The manufacturers (VW) describe these components as wear and tear items - I cannot agree as this is a fixed component not in direct contact with the road or driver, and should, without interference last the expected warranty period of the vehicle.
I'm about to get clobbered for the cost of these parts and I need to find others in the same boat, as I'm thinking about taking court action if they dont at least make a contribution to the cost.
Please contact me if you have had a similar problem ior know someone that has.
    Regards ... Mick 07817 933015

Hi Mick..strange,as i know as up to 2008 anyway, the cover is held on with 8mm bolts!! The only way i guess they could fall off is if they were put on too tight with a Windy Gun/Air Ratchet, and the nut head will cut into the plastic, opening it up....to come loose.Hope this helps.
