Hello. I reciently bought a new boot lid for my golf, as mine had a bit of a dink in it. The new boot doesn't have a spoiler on it and I wanted to put my old one on it. Having taken out the two screws I thought it would be easy to just pull off, but no. Tried a heat gun on it getting a stanley knife under it and it still wont move.
Anyone got any ideas as to how to remove it. I know it's possible cause I've seen them for sale on ebay.
    Cheers

I have heard thet are sort of glue'd on with a strip of very sticky foam type sealant and are hard to remove...

I'd love to know how to remove them properly too so i can get one from the scrap yard....

Think it may be slightly impossible to take these off an if you do it may be damaged. I have been looking for a decent aftermarket spoiler, anyone out there with the knowledge of primed spoilers that aren't too overpriced?

    Hey Bob !
    I got a spoiler four my mk4 1.6s 16v direct from VW.
It cost £100 to buy, and an extra £100 to paint and bond.
The bodyshop I went to didn't reccomend screwing the spoiler on, but reccomended bonding only.
    Hope this helps.

    Mark.

    Hi RossGalway,
I got the spoiler from Issac Agnew Volswagen in Belfast.
I am not sure if Issac Agnew have any franchises in the mainland, but I would presume that any official VW outlet on the mainland would have one ?
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ross !
Didn't realise you were from good old norn iron !
Issac Agnew VW Boucher Road Tel, 02890 234477.
I used the Agnew Bodyshop to do the paint and bond.
I personally didn't fancy someone drilling holes in my car to fit a spoiler though as it turned out, they reccommend bonding. Had to leave it with them overnite till the bond took.
If only fromt fog lamps were an accessory !
    Good luck.
