Car battery ran down with incar light left on accidentally.

Got it jump started and all was well but Audio system went into Safe mode.

Checked log book papers and no code! previous owners have forgotten to pass on with car - (an i forgot to check for it). Little chanve of finding it now due to years passing.

Have called local dealer who first sold it - who have wiped car details do to being older (9 years).

Re coding is just not on as we live on an island - £300 just to get car to mainland dealer.

To top it off, I've just bought a new Audi and need to sell this one ASAP, but can't with a dud Audio ssystem

ANy ideas how i can get the code please???

    Thanks

    Tystie

Tried googling the subject suggested by Zollaf but can't find anything that can really help. I have removed radio and got serial number (AUZ5Z4A0259134) but when entered in to website offering to instantly email you the code, it tells me this radio can only be done by manufacturer aaaarrrrrhhhh!! Desperation is setting in deeply!

Interestingly, the 'serial no' . that is required for this id the long 14 digit one. The radio housing actually has a sticker on it saying 'Serial No. 018896' but this doesn't seem to be the number folk are looking for.

Another slim possibility is that i could send the radio to the mainland to be recoded, which is a hassle but better than sending the whole car.

I'm still hoping someone on here might be able to send me a code or something but it's not looking good.

try this one. if you go to the audi section , it will tell you exactly where to find the code. yours doesnt go in, but there are usually lots of numbers to choose from.

Just to say my saga has come to a happy ending. After nothing going my way, I call Audi Aberdeen again to plead for help (as it one of their cars afterall). It appeared that it all depends on who answers the phone on the given day as I got a very helpful person who effortlessly retrieved my code form AUdi HQ (after having been told two days before that they'd wiped it and they could not retrieve it!). I had o pay £25 but was glad to as i just need the car sorted and sellable.

    its now for sale.

cheers for all your suggestions anyway.
