Hi every one. can any one give advice on what can be wrong with the rear heater (for ceiling vents). blows air but no heat. could do with the heat this time of year. Also dont seem to have power. vehicle will not maintain speed on motorway even on the slightest incline. taken it to vw center and they cant find anything wrong with it. done diagnoses, turbo works. dont know what else it can be, any help is greatly appreciated. thanks shez. 102bhp model 2002, 2.5 deisel

I own a 1995 Caravelle with the 2.4 Engine. The ceiling vents have their own blower and are not related to the heater.
Look on the floor of the vehicle and hopefully you will see, beneath the middle row of seats, a black plastic vent about one foot by 3 inches. Pull this up a couple of inches and there are vents which direct heated air to floor level front and back.
There should be three fan type switches on the dash. 1) Heater blower switch for front as per car, 2) The heater blower switch for the rear floor level and 3) another switch for forced ambient air for ceiling vents only.

is the heater in the rear OS corner ???

if so i think their is an auxillary water pump (electric) that feeds the rear heater with the water it requires as the engines water pump is not capavble of circulating that far, check the motor is working if it has one fitted, the Galaxy ones are prone to seizure

I think my caravelle has a different layout, it has a floor vent behind driver seat and ceiling vents are powerd by motor in back right side near rear door. Both floor vent and cieling vents have a single switch on dash and a aeperate controler in the passanger compartment. thanks for your comment any way.
