I am looking at fitting parking sensors on my 2006 A3 there are two good post on fitting there Audi ones at £170

But I have come across these which seem a god idea as no drilling the bumper just installing a strip antenna across the inside of the bumper

The whole system seems impressive here is the link

    http://www.parkingdynamics.co.uk/Veh...g-Dynamics-PD1

But just a bit wary before I click to buy

Has anybody fitted one of these

And do they work accurately with no interference

As Im just a bit concerned about the Installation part regarding the inner metal part of the bumper

    Thanks

    Hi Brian,

Where is the guide? I can see what looks like the path to an archived web page (mhtml) on your PC's hard drive, but unless you make it available online by posting it up somewhere on the web or adding it as an attachment to this site it is unreachable by anyone except you on your PC.

I'm sure it's too late but - don't do it! I've gone down this road and they're really no where near as good as ultrasonic. When you stop the beeping stops, they are also not that accurate. Do you ever wonder why on earth car manufacturers don't use this other system? The great thing about the A3 is there is a crease in the rear bumber (and corresponding depressions in the reinforcement bar) perfect for drilling and putting in sensors. I bought 18mm sensors off eBay (which are the smallest size) and they like OEM unless you look very carefully. I took time to investigate exactly where they should be located, the result is below (sorry it's not a very clear photo).

    Thanks for your Reply

It may not be to late as I have not installed them due to weather !!!

And may be able to get my Money back

Did you actually install the Ones from " Parking Dynamics "or were they one of those copies from e-bay ?

As even f I don't receive a refund I would not want to go to the trouble of installing them as it is a bi job removing and installing the rear bumper

No they're weren't PD1's (which I know are better quality) however it is very annoying when the beeping stops - you literally know where you are with ultrasonic. I didn't need to remove the bumper to fit my sensors - you can just about reach - just make sure you measure and mark carefully (use the reinforcement bar as a guide). The 18mm sensors aren't that easy to find on eBay - type 18mm parking sensor (something should come up). Being absolutely fair the electromagnetic sensor bar does work but only half as well as ultrasonic. Just my opinion but I think it is backed up by other peoples experiences.

My car is a 2006 Sportsback and i don't have the rear bumper flange line like your picture

If mine was the same bumper i would have used the standard ones like yours as the bumpers suites them
On the 2006 it is one big curve

But thanks for your Info I need to think it over
