looking to buy audi a4 2.0tfsi sline special edition what should i look out for ?

i am new to the site and new to anything to do with audi

i am looking at buying a 56 plate
Audi A4 2.0T FSI S-LINE SPECIAL EDITION

am i right in saying that the special edition are 220bhp ? the s-line are 200bhp ?

what is the road tax on the 220bhp cant find any c02 info on it.

when i look at one what should i look out for and are there any major faults with that car ? or are they very reliable most of the time ?

Alright mate- some info for you.

S-Line Special Edition has either 2.0T 220ps or 2.0TDI 170ps engines.

Car tax on the 220ps petrol is £215 for 12 months.

I have had mine for just over a year now and had no faults, passed it's first MOT with no minor faults. Have heard that coil packs sometimes fail on the 2.0T models though but this hasn't happened yet touch wood!

The one on autotrader you linked to is a saloon version of mine with some good options BOSE/Symphony/Bluetooth/Heated seats.

Price wise seems reasonable for a tidy car with 44k miles.

You won't be disappointed with the A4- on my 2nd now, first being a 1.9TDI Avant and I love 'em!

Looks idential to mine!!

Prices vary across the country but I paid 13,600 for an 06 plate with 33k miles on it last month. So the price seems pretty fair.

well i hope to go and look at the car soon i hope to try to get it for 12k not sure if thats asking to much for a car thats being sold for £12895 ?
what do you guys think ? would that be pushing my luck ?

also forgot to ask a couple of things

what sorta real world mpg will i get i do a fair amount of motor way driving cruising around the 80mph mark

also is the car i gave you a link to the facelift model ? or is there a newer facelift model before the B8 version came out ?

its just that i noticed a 07 plate but it had no chrome around the front grille or at the back on the top of the bumper ? and had different wheels ?
so is that the lastest facelift model

I was looking at the S-Line Special Edition when I got my Avant. Just as I was ready to order it they changed the grill, side window trim and roof rails to black. Inside the steering wheel, gear change and hand brake was covered in suede. I preferred the chrome grill and aluminium roof rails and I wasn't sure about the suede (but I've seen once since and it looks OK) so I went for a standard S-Line. That was around March 2007.

Hey Trapster, you should allways push your luck and even a bit further than realistic when negotiating the price,then if it's a NO then fine but the figure can then be pushed up to something the seller is happy with but without you crumbling at too high a price
Just as a hint of what you can get away with , about 6 years ago I was looking at a 3 year old 2000 model A6 2.4 se up for £9450 on a forecourt,but with a bit of number bouncing I drove it away , serviced and valetted for £8250
Equally 2001 51 S3 £10,600 came home for £9750
and current A4 cabriolet up at £9200 came home for £8200
So long as you are armed with a bit of nouse ie; the likely cost of any work that you feel needs doing in order to bring the vehicle up to the real worth, and you are polite and firm toward the seller without just insulting him with a matter of fact ,take it or leave it attitude you would be surprised what you may get away with.
Remember he wants to sell for a reason,so think sensibly and smile

Yes there are two versions of the S-Line SE

v1 2006: DTM wheels, chrome pack, leather gearknob/handbrake and steering wheel

v2 Latest: RS4 wheels, black optic pack, suede gearknob/handbrake and steering wheel, also did away with the amber lens on the front indicators I think

MPG: click the petrol pump in my signature to get the MPG I am getting from fill up to fill up, tops around 36mpg motorway 75-80mph, average 31mpg.
