    Hello,

    I've just replaced my analogue TV tuner with the hybrid version in my 4E A8, however I don't have the information needed to code it.

    VCDS doesn't have a label file for the module, I can't find any coding information on erWin and Google has been unable to offer anything up. The TV tuner is 8KD 919 129 and the output from VCDS is:

    Thursday,26,November,2009,19:08:08:51323

    Can anyone give me any pointers?

    Thanks for reading,

    Apologies for resurrecting this old post...a Google search brought me here!

    I was just wondering if the correct coding was ever found for the Hybrid tuner?

    My existing analogue TV Tuner feeding the RNS-E in my D2 S8 also gives a 'Not Coded' error;

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Address 57: TV Tuner Labels: None
    Part No SW: 4D0 919 146 C HW: 4D0 919 146 C
    Component: TV Tuner H02 0430
    Revision: 01H02001 Serial number: 00000000003415
    Coding: 0000030
    Shop #: WSC 00000 000 00000
    VCID: 295DB42DF992

    1 Fault Found:
    01042 - Control Module; Not Coded
    000 - -
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I'm guessing nobody knows the answer to this either?

    Thanks & kind regards,

    Glyn,

    It turned out to be the wrong unit for my car. The TV tuner was for MMI 3G and my car has MMI 1G.

    Thanks for letting me know Neil...hopefully I will end up with the Hybrid TV Tuner myself very soon...

    Until then...it would be nice to get my analogue TV Tuner coded properly.

    The Ross-Tech WIKI lists the following but of course I cannot speak German;

    ----------snip----------
    {TV-Tuner}
    Steuergerät Codierung
    STG 57 (TV-Tuner) auswählen
    STG Codierung -> Funktion 07

    0?xxx: Diagnoseeinleitung
    0 - nicht belegt
    1 - Wecken nur über CAN möglich
    2 - Wecken nur über K-Leitung möglich
    3 - Wecken über CAN und K-Leitung möglich
    0x??x: Ländercodierung/Videonorm
    00 - nicht belegt
    01 - PAL B/G (MID EUROPE)
    02 - PAL B/G (ITALY)
    03 - PAL I (UK, IRELAND)
    04 - SECAM D/K (EAST EUROPE)
    05 - SECAM L (FRANCE)
    06 - NTSC M (NORTH AMER.)
    07 - PAL B/H (AUSTRALIA)
    10 - PAL M (BRASILIA)
    11 - PAL N (ARGENTINA)
    12 - PAL B (NEW ZEALAND)
    13 - PAL D/K (CHINA)
    14 - PAL I (AFRICA)
    15 - SECAM D/K (GREECE, EGYPT)
    16 - SECAM K1 (AFRICA)
    17 - NTSC M (JAPAN)
    0xxx?: Tunerkonfiguration für das Zweitdisplay
    0 bis 3 - Komponente nicht verbaut
    4 bis 7 - Komponente verbaut

    ----------snip----------

    Obviously this is an old (2007) listing and only shows 5 digits whereas mine is showing 7 digits...but of course mine could be wrong!

    I can see by the Ross-Tech WIKI that digits 3 & 4 should be 03 for PAL-I but my crude translation of German indicates that the 5th digit appears to be indicating a Component (RGB?) input is/isn't installed but I believe that applied to the earlier TV Tuner that came with the RNS-D?

    ISTR the RNS-E TV Tuner doesn't have Component inputs but has 2 x composite inputs instead so I suspect the above info may not even apply to my TV Tuner?

    It looks like there many TV Tuners;

    4D0 919 146 (A?) original RNS-D Analogue (<Q1 2001)
    4DO 919 146 B RNS-D Analogue (>Q1 2001) Bosch CAN
    4DO 919 146 C RNS-E Analogue Infotainment CAN
    8J0 919 148 C Hybrid DVB-T

    Oh well...back to the drawing board...unless anyone out there with RNS-E & Analogue PAL-I TV Tuner in the UK might be good enough to post their coding here for me to look at please?

    Thanks & kind regards,
    -=Glyn=-

    Using the excellent iTranslate on my iPhone it would appear that the translation is as follows;

    nicht belegt = not used?
    wecken nur uber ? moglich - wake only on CAN, K-Line or both?
    Komponente nicht verbaut = Component not installed?

    I am still guessing this is for the earlier RNS-D and not RNS-E though...

    Thanks & kind regards,
