I've not seen a thread like this (there's one for the Golf, but only because I put it there) and I can't seem to find one...

So, what do you like about your Passat (B6)?

I don't have mine any more but I liked it's comfort, waftability, seating position, presence, sound system (well, the speakers) and looks. The leather helped of course ....

The comfort and refinement, the well designed, modern dash (even on lower spec cars still looks good), and best of all the red/blue night combination with the two little lights that shine a red glow around the gear stick...

i'd really like to have the front fogs to complete the look at the front but am not prepared to pay the cost to have them retrofitted.

    Nothing!!!

Drivers seat digs into your legs gives back ache and you sink into it rather than on it.

Driving position rubbish have to have it forward so you can push the clutch right down then your right legs is squashed up against the gas pedal.

    Noisy engine 2.0tdi.

    Starts rough in the morning.

Ride is very choppy on the motorway.

    Hard ride round town.

Wind noise is loud from the back of the car when on motorway.

Plastics on dash are cheap and flimsy.

    Handbrake sticks on sometimes.

    Glovebox rattles.

Apart from that it looks nice from the outside.

Which begs the question - why have you got one?

I love my passat. I love looking down on other marques (especially French ones) because for some reason I believe VAG is best and all other road users should get out of my big fat passat way!

(so I guess that means I love the size, presence, badge, comfort and safety)

I bought mine for the looks, dashboard design, space, safety, economy and generally low running costs.

Once I drove one, I found it smooth, quiet and comfortable.

Having had it for over a year now I really appreciate the quality feel of most components, it's very very comfortable and feels solid.

    I can't think of a better car.

I retrofitted mine for less than £60.
