    Hi,

Ran a scan via vag-com and it came with that fault code.

Its a VW Passat 2000 W reg Auto. When i drive the car from cold then the gear shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to first is a bit jerky.

However once its warm then it works perfectly.

Any idea on what might be the problem? Thanks.

As it happens the passenger side front carpet is pretty damp. The TCM is under the carpet, havent had a look at it yet.

Dumb question, but how do I take the carpet off to have a look at the TCM? How do get rid of the dampness? And hw do I identify the source?

I am asking this, as Ive heard this is a pretty common problem and someone here must have gone through this so their help would be greatly appreciated.
