Just wondered if anyone knew if the 3.0 tdi used in the b7 a4 was a pd or cr engine, just read some conflicting info online and am now interested in what the truth is was this the same engine used in the a8 an a6? Is it the same as the q7 or is that the same as the new b8 shaped a4?

What was the difference between the 201bhp and 233bhp versions as i beleive it was the same kkk turbo. Also does anyone know what the torque limit is on the tip gearboxes and are they likely to die prematurely when a remap increases the torque by up to 100nm?

Cheers guys, interested to here peoples views.

    I don't know - but I just bought a 3.0TDI Quattro and it goes like a rocket!
I have heard that the newr 230bhp engines are the same, usethe same turbo etc...the only difference is the Software. I read that an ECU remap can take the 204BHP up to 275! Personally, it's fast enough at the moment....

    Hope this helps?

It's good to hear it's a good ruuner, thanks. Yeah I hear they remap to the same BHP too which does make you think they may be the same, especially as they are the same turbo, but who knows.

Common rail engine used in A8,A6 revised for Q7 AND 8K PLATFORM good engine and the zf box appears remap friendly as for the bhp differences suspect is just mapping and possible injectors but I'm not sure Marc1

Cheers, that's good to know and clears up the misleading info read about it being a PD engine. DOn't suppose you know what the torque limit is on the auto box do you a8 tech?

Cheers mate, I'm thinking it's probably around the same as the A6. Wonder if the B8 is only a manual for torque limit reasons, hmmm, who knows.
