I was wondering what kind of fuel economy some of you guys might be getting from the 2.0Tfsi .

I have a 55 plate Quattro Avant (200hp) and even driving like an OAP, (no offence to any older members here) I am struggling to get more than 28mpg from it...............

To give you an example of the style of driving I'm talking about, my old 4.2 S4 would average 23mpg, so you can see why I'm a little dissapointed with the new car, after all, it was for economic reasons that I changed them.

Can anyone here confirm if what I'm getting is right or if there may be a problem with my car.

Sounds about right for TFSI Q. If you wanted economy then you should've bought a diesel I'm afraid.

My brother in law has the same motor as you and he cant get above 30mpg average for a tank.

My 2007 2.0tfsi 217bhp has been doing 33mpg since i bought it 3 weeks ago and that is with a dialy blast so i think 30mpg should be a minimum. My mates Golf GTi Mk 5 does roughly the same too!

See my signature for avg fuel consumption over the last 3 months in 2.0T FWD- mixed traffic driving.
I am enjoying high 30s at the moment as doing a lot of motorway driving at steady 75mph on cruise control.

Thats what I was expecting from mine!!!! 80% of the daily trip is done on dual carriage way at 70-75 mph with perhaps only 2 miles of cross town at the end.

I read that the combined on this car should be 31mpg (Parkers) so I was expecting mid 30's with the kind of driving it's doing......

What fuel are you using- I have always used Shell V-Power 99 octane since buying the car.

    Hi Greengoblin,

I was also disappointed with the fuel economy on the 2.0Tfsi. However, if you have a look at http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/ then I think you will see that the real life consumption averages around the 29mpg mark. You can refine the search to give just quattro models etc.

This also shows that the newer, 211ps version of the engine, doesn't seem to be doing any better.

I've go the multitronic and get anything from 28 to 32 on the DIS which I have corrected and over the last 10k miles, I've averaged just shy of 30mpg.

I didn't find the Super Unleaded helped the economy particularly but the car definitely had more torque.

I'm now seeing what happens with a remap but it's too early to say.

My daily commute to work is 10 miles and I average about 27-28 to the gallon.

Usually get around 330 miles out of a tank using Tesco Super.

My wife used the car to take a 400 mile round trip, I got the car back with 400 miles out of the tank .... I then somehow managed to get another 75 miles out of it before the need to fill up! (trip computer 2 however looks like it reset itself mid journey ... or the wife was trying to find the wipers lol)

When I tell the bloke at work with an S4 I'm getting 27-28 mpg he does get a great big smile (He says it makes his 23mpg feel great!).
