    Hi everyone

My Golf Bluemotion SE arrived this morning in Reflex Silver!

Id doesn't have a bluemotion badge on it though, just says TDI at the back. It does have the start/stop function so it is a bluemotion....

    Pictures to follow

Arrived on 29th September: MK6 Golf Bluemotion SE - Reflex Silver

Interesting - black Bluemotion in the carpark at work the other day - I'm sure it had a supplementary badge under the engine size on the rear ?

I'd be happer without - makes you look less fo a cheapskate....

I'd've wanted a bluemotion badge to make it clear that I've made the effort to get an economical car and not just a 1.6tdi.

Shame it doesn't come with the 6spd box though - surely that'd make it even more economical....

Just think of how much CO2 goes into the design, manufacture, shipping, adhesive and end-of life scrappage (not recycle) of the badge itself ?

Perhaps Bluemotions shopuld be debadged, rather than extra-badged ?

I am being cheeky... bluemotions usually suggest to me a company car driver trying to reduce their tax bill, rather than being an eco warrior.

    Fair point - how's about a simple blue " i " in TDi then?

If the Bluemotion SE had been available when I got my GT, I might have considered that... Or, the 170 GTTDi....

Blue I an excellent idea - in water-based, solvent free paint of course...

if they'd done the GT spec with the 1.6tdi I'd have been tempted - depending on how the lease cost / personal tax worked out.

    Hi,

Car looks fantastic, not sure why you didn't get the Bluemotion badge, all the cars i've looked at online all show the bluemotion badge but then that is mainly VWs site

Quick question if i may, how are the wing mirros on the bluemotion? do they have that vertical line kinda splitting the mirror about 3/4s of the way across? is the glass kinda concave/convex or magnified slightly or is it just simly a plan mirror? Reason for asking is i know someone who has bought a new focus and there one is liek this, my focus is the odler versiona dnit is jsut plain mirror and much better to see out of i find.

    Many thanks.

Hi, im not too sure but I do know its the same as all other Golf's so maybe someone else can comment?

I'm not bothered about the badge, just expected it to have something. Pros and cons for not having it anyway.

First impressions are its nice and powerful when above ~1850rpm, below that it does feel pretty gutless, have had to drop down a gear to get any acceleration.

The tyres came under inflated, at 2.2 bar, put it up to 2.5 bar.

Unbelievable if the dealer didn't pdi your car with the correct tyre pressures - a major contributor to mpg !

I'd be very interested to see what MPG you get. Mrs has a boggo standard SE with the now 'old' 2 litre 110. On a trip to north wales on clogged Mways and a few days normal driving and then commuting its managed 60mpg. Checked when refuelled and trip computer was over reading by only @1-2mpg.

Seems that Blue Motion isn't really needed and is a marketing ploy?
