    Hello all,

Just a quick question I thought I knew the answer to but now it seems what I think is wrong

On the B7 as we all know there are the two 2.0 TDI engines. Now I always thought you could tell which was the 140 and which was the 170 by the exhaust pipes. The 140 has twin pipes in the left corner and the 170 has the single pipe on each side.

Is this correct or complete wrong?

    Cheers,

    Russ

Russ your right the 140 has the twin tail pipes on the left the 170 has the split pipes one in each corner. I must admit the 170 pipes look great but unfortunately the wages wont stretch to swappin the one on my 140.
( not being that mechanically minded a think that's right )

The normal 2.0 litre (130bhp) has a single pipe on the left, the 1.9 TDI and 2.0 (140) have twin pipes on one side and as far as I know all the others have a single pipe on each side.
I agree with Andy the single pipe on each side looks great. Good choice of colour

I have a 1993 Audi V8 4.2 ltr car with 50,000 miles. It runs really well except when driven hard a tinny rattle can be heard from the exhaust which sounds as if it is coming from inside the exhaust.

Can anyone tell me how to work out where the noise is coming from and how to fix it.

Also, if I do have to replace part of the exhaust of this car, what make of exhaust give the best noise and performance at a reasonable price.
