    Hi,

Firstly, I'm sorry if this has been asked I have had a search and found some similar posts but each has sligth differences.
I have a 2005 A4 DTM Edition which has the standard lights. I have thought about replacing with Xenon's but Audi will not retro-fit anything so have been looking elsewhere.
I have just seen a set on ebay which appear to be a direct replacement:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-A4-B7-BI-...A1%7C294%3A200

My car already has the std fitted headlight washer and has the manual headlight adjuster by the steering wheel.

Could anyone please let me know if I can just do a direct replacement with this or if there is more work/parts involved.

    Many thanks

    GT

They will work with a few wiring and VAG-COM changes, however getting the auto-levelling and adaptive cornering to work will be more involved.

Make sure they are from a right hand drive car, otherwise the beam pattern will be wrong.

Yes I looked at these ones...I thought Bi meant two as in two of the lights should be xenons not one as these are??? Also the bulbs are 8000K so not the standard 4300K. You are almost there in terms of meeting DOT regulations but self levelling is also a requirement... See my probably unhelpful recent thread https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=74856

Have had a look at your post and and also the video, I think to be safe I will check with a VAG specialist and get them to give me a cost and then see if I still fancy doing this.
    Thanks for the advice

No, I did a bit of research and decided that it would cost too much to get oem units as I would also need a leveling unit for the ones that were on ebay and the hid units are just not worth looking at.
All in it looked like it would cost about £1k to get Xenon's on my car.

I was thinking about changing the bulbs for some Philips Xtreme or Osram Night Breakers but have heard that the Osram 65w lights are better, but not sure if I want to do this now as I haven't seen the bulbs on sale and don't want to put anything in that may get too hot for the std wiring.

For some reason I always thought that it had/has standard halogen blubs, but having said that I have a boy racer along-side me last night (I'm sure he could barely see over the steering wheel of his Kia Cee'd) and my lights were as good if not better then his.
I think I thought that i had halogens was because the garage originally and assumed that they were correct.
