I was wondering if you could shed some light on the problem that i have with the car.
I have climate control and when i push the button to blow air onto the windscreen the light lights up but no air is hitting the screen.
Is the whole thing duff or are the vents blocked or something?

It's probably the defroster flap that has got stuck. You will have to remove the glovebox to access it.

Very easy to remove. There is 3 bolts on the top of it and 2 under it.

You also have to disconnect the light wire, thats in behind the dash at the passanger door.

I had exactly the same problem with my A4 some months ago - here's how I fixed it:

To remove the glovebox first unclip the plastic panel on the end of the dash (it's only exposed when you open the door - the one on the driver's side conceals the fuses). My glovebox was attached with 5 screws - 3 on the upper edge and 2 at either side at the bottom (there may also be a further 2 screws to undo at the side where you removed the plastic panel). Pull the glovebox away from the dash, making sure to undo any electrical connectors before setting aside.

You've now exposed the air conditioning unit. The actuating motor that controls the defroster flap has a light green lever on it. Unfasten the electrical connector to this motor and then undo the two small bolts which attach it to the aircon unit. You can now unclip the motor lever from the flap conrol rod - this can be a bit fiddly as the components are quite small but rotating the motor body until it frees will do the trick. Once the motor is removed you can check the operation of the defroster flap by pullling up and down on the now free end of the control rod - mine was perfectly ok.

I then checked that the motor was working properly by attaching a 12V DC supply to pins 5 & 6 of the motor, then reversing the + and - to get the motor to operate in reverse. If there's no rotation of the motor lever then the motor will need replacing - in my case it freed itself up and resumed working properly.

All's then left is to reassemble everything in reverse order to the above

    Good luck

    Adam

Sometimes you can get things working again by resetting all the flaps using Vagcom. If I remember correctly you have to go to Measured Block 001 for the HVAC system and all 5 motors will run from stop to stop. This is a good idea if you have had to replace one of the motors.

I keep meaning to write a 'How To' guide for the How To section for the forum as this kind of problem is very common. A4adams post is a good start!
