    Hi All

Myself and a garage tech friend recently purchased an official VCDS Cable and licence.

We have been playing around with our cars and I thought i'd let you know what I have done on my 2014 A4 SE Technik.

    1. Needle Sweep
    2. Lap Timer
    3. Beep on Unlock / Lock - option to turn on and off in MMI
    4. Enable Audi Drive Select and it works - took a lot of playing around!!
    5. Enable/Disable DRL with an option in MMI
    6. Enable TPMS (ABS Unit depending)
    7. Enable Video in motion
    8. Enable ripping from CD to MMI Jukebox (With track names if on the disk).
    9. Enable hidden Green menu in MMI 3G+
    10. Turn off seatbelt chime
    11. Turn off service reminders.
    12. Turn off rest reccommendation.
    13. Disable Start/Stop
    14. Add/Remove any optional extra such as TV Tuner, radar system, any optional modules.
    15. Remove component protection.
    16. Enable Compass and other generic global specific items.
    17. Headlights, Sidelights and Fog Lights on with auto lights on unlock.
    18. Cornering Fog Lights

I am currently working on trying to remap my ECU, but it is a tri core protected so would have to take apart and soilder on wires etc so may leave this as car is almost brand new aha!!

I am based in West Sussex, and would be willing to do any of the above, or any vag com tweaks for people

We also successfully bench remapped my tech friend's C5 A6 Allroad 2.5 TDI tiptronic Quattro from 180BHP to 250BHP with a map specifically for the allroad.

I have timed the 0-60 before remap - 9.2 Seconds - After Remap - just around 6 seconds

I did manage to remove it with custom long coding and a direct link to the Audi Database to authorise it, so no, not technically with VCDS on it's own.

This was all a major learning curve for us

What module did you remove CP on?

Might ask Ross Tech about this just to clarify as they've always said it can't be done with their cable.

The coding can be done, i'll have to let you know exacty what was done, but it had to be hooked up to the Audi Database, and the changes verified.

I tried it with changing the MMI headunit with a spare (2g) unit we had, and I managed to get it authorised, and the original back in and authorised again.

3rd party garages are able to change computers, but they must have the direct link to Audi to enable the unit to be re coded to the vehicle. Just like on the new digital servicing 3rd parties are able to carry this out if they have the direct link.

Could you tell me who helped you do this? Feel free to PM.

I only ask as Rosstech (who post on this forum) might be interested to hear that somebody has used the cable to remove CP and might want to look into the idea further.

Dont just press yes see if the module can do it its self first and if you are going to press yes make sure you note down the original code just incase it gos balls up
