    Hi All,
Yesterday I picked up a 2001 VW T4 camper which has had aftermarket electric windows fitted. I belive that the switches used are from a Passat. Unfortunately one of the switches has become disconnected whilst trying to rectify a problem and I’ve only managed to blow the fuse for the windows when trying to reconnect the switch.
Does anyone know the layout of the pins on the switch?
From what I’ve managed to get together so far today is what I’ll be trying tonight.
    Outer pins - motor
    Next ones in -ve
    Middle +ve and illumination
    Many Thanks,
    Paul.

One passat switch has 4 pins. Numbered left to right. 3, 1, 2, 4.
    3. Switch illumination
    1 & 2. Up and down
    4. Power

    Is this like your switch.

Looks like you will have to run a resistance test on the pins to work out what they do. The passat switch only has 4 pins arranged in two rows. Three pins in top row, one in bottom row.

That's not the pin layout I recognise for a passat switch. Just measure the resistance between pins when you move the switch. That will tell you what connects to what.
