Location of Audi A4 quattro fuel cut off switch???

Hi everyone i'm new to this site so i hope im posting this thread in the correct place. :-D I bought myself an Audi A4 quattro 2.6 V6 (1995) and the clutch is stuck so a friend tried to start it on gear with clutch pedal down, he did this several times and quite aggresively. Since then the car will not start atall and i now know there is no fuel coming through and was told it was the fuel cut off switch possibly as with all the sudden jerking around may have allowed the car to believe it has been in a collision and cut off the fuel supply. Would this make sense?? Also where would i find the switch to reset it?

It is part of the air bag deployment system, a signal shuts down the engine ECU so no big bang from the wheel and it isn’t the cut out.

Thanks for your reply, would disconnecting the battery for a while help reset this? or perhaps getting it plugged into a dagnostic computer and clearing/reseting the fault codes stored in the ECU?

A fault code read is a good idea but unless you have a deployed air bag hanging out of the steering wheel the engine cut has not activated.

It turned out not to be what i suspected because the next day it started straight away...?????? Today it was fine until i parked up for an hour then got in it and, yet again it just wouldnt start atall? How can i diagnose this fault? Is it possible to do a home diagnostic like you can do with the old vauxhalls and crossing pins 2+3 on the diagnostic plug? then counting the number of times the engine management light flashes?

So do i need professional equpment to diagnose it? Also does anyone know if the Audi has Some saftey features to protect the engine?
i.e if the oil level was too low would it stop it from starting so as to not damage the engine?
A friends mercedes has this feature and broke down and could not start it again,... when the AA guy came out he checked the oil straight away and after topping it up it started.
My oil level is fine but the oil level warning light is flashing.
Any ideas anyone?

You have some odd electrical problems and need a fault code read doing. Has the vehicle had water in the passengers footwell?

Yes it has, the Audi had been sat for a year and there was a leak in the sunroof which soaked the two front footwells. I'm now assuming the reason you askeed is because there's some important electricals in the passenger footwell?? I have had it valeted and all the water has been vaccumed out and right now i have dehummidifier in the car to remove any moisture left in it. Will this cure it or will i need to replace/repair something?
