    Ello all,

Is there an easy way to tell if a car has the Lucas or ATE system fitted and thereby determine which brakes to get?

If I select the correct Chassis range for my car at Eurocarparts I'm presented with two options...... Which boil down to ATE or Lucas.

    Cheers,
    Dan.

    Front or rear brakes ?

Easiest surest way is to whip a wheel off and have a look. Lucas or ATE will be stamped on the caliper but might take some finding amongst the grime.

Yes - all need doing For some reason Murrays were able to quote me the parts directly, but ECP seem to offer the choice.....

ATE calipers have a wire spring/clip on the outside of the caliper visible if you have alloys. The Lucas dont have that...

I went to ECP and the guy told me the same and I had no clue - he went out and knew as soon as he looked at them!

Having braved the sheet weather I can quite clearly see the ends of a relatlivey thick spring clip top and bottom so I assume ATE it is then
