    Does anyone know whats the right tool to looses the oil filter housing on a golf mk4 gt tdi?

    74mm (I believe) Oil Filter Socket - got mine for about £10 from GSF.
    2003 VW Golf Est 1.9 TDI 130 (gone but not forgotten after 367,000 miles)
    2006 Audi A3 2.0 TDI Sport 140

    About £5.50 IIRC from Halfords for a Lazer one!

    Or you can use a rubber glove and a fabric oil filter strap that connects to a ratchet
    Black Magic 53-plate Mk1 Leon TDI Cupra PD150 (daily drive)
    Grey Nissan 200SX S13 (weekend car - currently being rebuilt, was 264 BHP at the hubs)

    Dont get a really cheap one,I got mine for 7 quid on ebay and the tool rounded off as the thing was quite tight. binned it and used a large wrench!!
