    Afternoon all,

I am still trying to sort out a replacement timing belt for my 2000 Non PD 1.9tdi Audi. I just made a few phone calls and here are the prices I got:

Volksworks: £373 for belt kit and water pump
Independent VW-Audi Centre: £368 for belt kit and pump
Chris Umpleby Bradford: £238 belt kit and around £85 if pump fitted too

2 of the three questioned why I wanted a pump fitted at the same time. One said PD pumps fail more than my earlier model.

Are these prices about right and is it worth getting the pump replaced or not on my 131k mileage car? Chris Umpleby at £238 seems a great price!

    Ta, Rich

Thought I would update this in case anyone is interested in the future.

I managed to get a mobile mechanic in Leeds who came to the house and replaced the timing belt and fitted a new water pump for £140 labour and I supplied the parts myself. He charged an extra £35 to flush the brake fluid too.

So new belt and water pump fitted for just under £215 is a good result if you ask me!

PM me if you want the mechanics number.
