    Hi all,

Just wondered whether anyone had tried any of the supercar experience days and what it was like?

I've been looking to get something for my brother's 40th (June). He's into his cars, although he doesn't own anything fancy. Thing is he's done quite a bit for me in the past and I thought I'd get him something special for his 40th. These experience days seem to be all I can stretch to at the moment.

They seem to vary quite a bit in price, dependent on what cars you can drive etc.

If anyone has had any good/bad experiences I'd be happy to hear them. I'd be grateful if any one could suggest any particular packages/deals etc.

    Thanks.

    Nas

I can't really comment on supercar experiences, although I did do a rally experience at Oulton Park. I loved every minute of it in a Ford Escort rally car, the amount of grief you could give the car and get away with was incredible.

Oulton Park also do supercar and single seater experience days. The place is very well run and would recommend Oulton Park anytime.

What was very satisfying, was we did timed runs at the end. Despite being in my forties I got the fastest lap, putting 20 odd year olds to shame! That did feel good.

I think Dudey Head did a supercar experience? He might just see this thread and put me right or wrong, either way!

Thats the important bit, they do vary, some are only passenger rides and other only have a short amount of drive time. my advice is to check the small print

I also did a rally experience day along time ago and it was great, especially with SE spec cars

I did one for my 30th at Bruntingthrope and had a great day. I bought the missus a Aston Martin experience for her 30th a year later and she really enjoyed that.

I think we used these people:

11th April I have the Aston Martin experience day somewhere near Leicester. Can't recall the details and I don't have them with me.

My daughter bought it for me so it is only the cheaper one. A few laps with the instructor driving then six laps for me. Afterwards there is a 4x4 off road experience which my daughter can join.

I think it cost her £95 and it will be a good taster for what it is like. If it's as good as I think it will be I will book a more expensive day for the summer

This seems to look really good, decent price range too. I might go for one of these:

    http://www.driversdreamdays.co.uk/la...l/prod_46.html

    http://www.driversdreamdays.co.uk/la...e/prod_81.html

    http://www.driversdreamdays.co.uk/ex.../prod_102.html

I don't know how long the offers are one for though and probably won't be able to afford until next months pay comes in.

i have done one at silverstone, Oct 2007. My girlfriend bought it as a present, because it was late in the year and good chance of rain, she got it for £120 instead of £240, turned out to be a dry warm day. I did 4 laps in an exige + 4 in a Ferrari 360 f1 modena. have also driven a R8 at loughborough last year, again was a present, think it cost £120. Silverstone was the best, byt the price reflects it.
