My Oct 2005 VW Polo blower fan only works on Speed 4 ,
Reading previous Threads , Looks like the resisitor pack has gone ,
Took out the glove box to find only 2 pin connector straight to the Fan Motor
No sign of a Resistor Pack?

Anyone tell me location of where the resistor pack is mounted , so i can check out
    Thanks

Had same problem a week or two back.

OK, once you've removed the glove-box and tugged the soundproofing out of the way you can see the blower motor. The Resistor pack actually sticks into the top of the ducting. If you look just to the top-right of the blower, you can see the plug and wiring on top. Squeeze the tabs front and back to release the wiring connector from the resistor then about half a turn anticlockwise and it just pops out. It's a little tight for space but not too bad.

I'm struggling with this part, just can't release the wiring connector from the resistor!! Should I be wearing gloves, would that make it any easier? Any tips from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

From what I remember it's just a matter of making sure you have pushed the retaining clips in before you try and pull it out. I just shone a torch up beyond the motor assembly so I could see the connector first. So I knew which bits to press..

I'd go and have a look for you but my Tdi has been replaced by a 1.2Tsi now

Thanks for the speedy response, I can feel the tabs and can squeeze them, but there's just no give. I'll try again tomorrow in the daylight, thanks again for your reply.
