At the risk of appearing stupid, how the hell do you change the front sidelight bulb on a B7?

I have opened up the round access hole on the back of the headlamp unit and I can fiddle with the wires that lead to the sidelight, but there is no way to get hold of the lamp holder. I cannot get my hand in there.

Someone said it's just a pull push fit, so I can tug on the wires and it will come out. Great, but how the hell do I then get it back in.

Has anyone found a simple way or tool to do this?

BTW I don't have huge hands before anyone asks!

    Thanks

Thanks - I'll give it a go at the weekend.

Can you remember if the bulb was a blade fitting or old fashioned bayonet fitting type?

    Cheers

As stated - give them a good tug...

To aid refitting, turn them on... Then look from the front, push and bingo!

Great tip Flakmunky, make it much easier to locate the sidelight bulbs. So simple

Quattromaxx, it was a blade type fitting, now have XXX super whites in.

This now completes my foward lighting mods. Changed day time running lights (standard in Sweden) to 27 SMT led's which look awesome, plus added strip of 9 super white leds to each horizontal fin next to the fog lights. They make the B7 look so much newer and not boyracer!. If anyone's interested I can post photo's and explain how I wired with resistors and heat sinks etc.

Only if you're interested. Well worth the time and money, but only if you have Xenons though.

I can't take the credit for that tip... KodKod.84 suggested this tip in this thread.
