    Hi,

Can anyone help seem to have a problem with the cruise control on the multifunction steering wheel of my golf mk 4 estate. When I move the switch on the indicater stalk the green light appears to show that it is activated, but nothing happens when I try to set or increase/decrease the speed. It worked fine last week and the car is only three and a half and has not done much motorway mileage.

    Regards

    Steve

There are switches on the clutch and brake pedals. Normally, when cruise is on, the set speed is cancelled if any of these two pedals are depressed. It is possible that one of these switches could be faulty making the ECU think the pedal is depressed and so immediately cancellng any set speed.

My advice would be to get VAG-COM to read stored fault codes first, but you can always replace the switches and see.

Thanks for the reply, I'll take it downwhen I get a next service (54,000) and the cam belt changed which i've been quoted for at £400 for the 2, still never mind plenty of time to save as not due for 5-6 months.
