I've just bought a mk1 one with a mk2 dash conversion but the electrics are a nightmare . I've been told an early mk2 dash loom will plug into the mk1 fuse box thus eliminating any problems. Can anyone shed some light on this one?

as far as I know mk1 and mk2 looms are totally different, your best bet is to buy a loada wire and a haynes manual and splice the loom youve got into all the switched etc, good luck, itsa horrible job
