    Just unscrew them.
When I fitted new plates I got Plate surrounds.
You srew these to the car then the plate mounts in them, no holes and the
plates hide the screws in the surround.

Have a look at the surrounds.....

On that note, mine's got the standard dealer plate surround with the number plate sat in it. It's screwed through with the "hex head" screws that also take a philips screwdriver. The dealer has not screwed one of them in far enough, feels like they have cross threaded the nylon against whatever is in the boot door.

I've tried undscrewing it but the screw twists (think the whole thing is nylon or something). Anyone got any idea how to get this off and sorted out - as the number plate rattles against the boot door....

    Cheers,
    Dan.

Dan, This is similar to the problem I have , The screws are head less or the head is only accessible by removing the boot lid cover I think?, Mine are also plastic / nylon and dont seem to want to move anywhere when I try to unscrew them with some grippers, I googled around and found someone with a passat who had the same problem, he ended up drilling the plastic screws out, Dont really want to do that.

    Any Ideas anyone ?

Sounds good , Grippers and brute force it is then ! think when I apply the adhesive strips I will cover these holes as when washing the cars water will get inside the holes and could cause future rust...

I know this whole thread is probably a proper noob question , but I wanted to make sure I wouldnt cause other damage by forcing the screws out..

    Cheers Bez..
