Hi all, I too am having a problem with an emissions warning light. Been on permanently for sometime. Bit the bullet at MOT time and got it diagnosed. Two fault codes:
17075 Cooling Fan 1 short to ground
19558 Motor intake manifold flap V157 no signal P3102

Wasn't over enamered with garage response that they had cleared down codes, couldn't see anything amiss. Advised warning light should go out after 6 miles.... That was a week ago, the warning light is still on and am wondering what should be next course of action? any advice/experience appreciated.

    Car is a Sport 2.0 TDI 2004

    Cheers...

Hi, afraid not no reply to date. Was loosing a little faith with the forum but at least someone out there!! I have looked at a few posts but nothing is coming up that I can look to link the issue to. Have you had the codes for your emission light issue?

Hi, I work for an Independent Vag specialist. I have seen three vehicles with the same codes, you will need to replace both engine cooling fans & the intake motor. It's not cheap I'm afraid but will cure both faults when replacing both components.

I've read up a lot on this the last 2 days. The intake manifold flap will need to be replaced and also the fuse which serves both the flap and the fans. Part on order and shall be fittd on the weekend.

Hi is this in additon to Paul's comments or is it the same thing???
So what I'm asking is is it both engine cooling fans & the intake motor + intake manifold flap and fuses or are there potentiolly two resolutions or we talking two different issues ? If its just your issue, should I be able to find a blown fuse somewhere?

Thanks v much for coming back to me, Mike

In my experience you will need to change the manifold flap motor and only replace the cooling fan fuse which changes in position after 2005. VAG have introduced a new motor and reduced the price considerably to about £215. I have never had to replace the fan pack for this issue but I have replaced many 1K pan packs for other reasons, it is such a common problem that they are often on back order.

Cheers Crasher, thanks for the info! Does the cooling fan fuse blow because of the manifold flap motor issue or is it likely to be a seperate issue. Is the fuse one that I can access/replace easily?

The fuse blows due to the motor sticking, it is easy to change by the position varies, red is for up to 2005 models, fuse 8 behind the relay), green 2006 onwards
