Does anyone have any latest information as to the list of Nokia phone cradles available, as the one supplied by VW is about phones that are nearly 5 years out of date. This applies to other manufacturers as well.

It is saying that you cannot have up to date communications in a 2006 spec vehicle.

    Or

Is it still Cullman who make them?

As in my reply in another thread see http://www.zubehoer-service.de/news/news.php?id=25&carid=9&lang=en&mcarid== which lists all available cradles. You can also find these cradles for half the UK price of £110 if you search on ebay for "VW Handyadapter" and extend the search for EU countries to include Germany. Search from a UK Ebay account to show Euro - GBP conversion and some translation, also only deal with those using paypal, most will post to UK. Only cradles with a product number beginning 3C0 051 435 will fit in the centre armrest on the new Passat with pre-installed Mobile Telephone Preparation PREMIUM.

Yes the cradles are the same! If you look on the link, there are two colums Applicable to Mobile preparation and Applicable to
    Mobile preparation Premium

If you have the factory fitted mount on the dash you need to look at the first column with an "X" in the box for compatibilty. It appears that some of the cradles have built in bluetooth functionality for the dash fit as there may be no expansion connector to the mobile. With the new UK regulations it is imporatant the mobile is held in an adapter whether you use bluetooth or not otherwise Mr Bobby can still issue you with a £60 ticket and 3 penalty points for just handling the mobile phone!

This is going to help us considerably, as we are just about to upgrade our phones, and have been worried about the lack of help from VW UK.

It should help with both our Passat and Golf requirements, many thanks.

Glad to be of help as I too have been very annoyed at the lack of support from VW UK and I have had to search VW DE sites to get the info above. The latest cradle available is the 3C0 051 435 T which will fit the Nokia 6233 which is at least a 3G phone and is less than 12 months old.

I am using a Nokia 6230i in a factory fitted dash cradle in the new Passat. The voice tag system will not work correctly. If you call a number using a tag it will dial the number, fire up the stereo/handsfree, but then after 2 seconds turns the stereo off. The call is still put through, but the handsfree is gone. The person at the other end can faintly hear you through the phone mic, but you can't hear them.

We have this in 2 vehicles witht he same phone. No help from VW or Nokia. Anybody else experience this?

I think it's THB, but they are modified so that you can't buy an aftermarket one that will work. Devious blighters

Hi, I've got a 2006 MK5 Golf Sport with the Nokia factory prep fitted. I had the car new in June 2006. Following the info listed in this thread I can only find reference to PR Code 9W8, this code is nowhere to be found on the Vehicle Data label in the front of the service manual. I guess that it has a kit fitted prior to the latest fitted after week 22 in 2006. I'm trying to find out if a cradle is available for the Nokia 6233. Everything I've read online, including the German VW site is confusing. Any help would be great!! (Oh btw, it's not the bluetooth kit, only the standard wired kit that is fitted)

    Thanks

Well in the end we have chnaged both our Passat Sport and Golf GTTDi cradles from the VW fitted to a Bluetooth system.

This was extremely easy to achieve and all the plugs and looms supplied are directly comparable with the VW ones in the radio.

Therefore, on any NEW vehicles we purchase, we will not be using the fixed cradle type, but will take the Bluetooth option.

This works well and the voice tag works great with Nokia N95's.

Radio mute works and so do all the other radio /sat nav functions.

We are now back in control and not VW.
