Hi guys, i got this result from a recent scan and i was hoping someone might point me in the right direction as to finding the actual fault - the car is an 2004 Audi A6 1.9Tdi Avant. I have cleared the fault a few times but it always comes back

    All advice appreciated.
    Many thanks

    Midge.

Hi Kite - that was a quick reply thanks.

I have just tested it (Sitting inside while armed) and the alarm activated after i moved. The indicators started flashing and there was an audible sound from the rear of the car similar to what you might hear when lorries are reversing - there was nothing really loud or anything that sounded like an ordinary car horn. To be honest, i don't know what the alarm should sound like - i know, bit daft really...
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    Midge.

    Kite -

Sorry just remembered, a couple weeks ago the alarm went off and the indicators flashed but there was no sound – I guess this might be the intermittent fault?

I agree - you have a connection issue and short of chasing the wiring to the alarm, I see no way to resolve it. A good starting place would be to trace and check all connectors related to the horn. It will not be fun! Intermittents never are! (Could be a loose pin, a bad crimp on a wire, corrosion in a connector .....)
