can you beleave this, i have been looking for at last two days now, on and off. i cant find a single, vw's own cd player to replace my tape player.

You won't get one unless you fit something double-din. Do you have a T5? If so you can take the radio and cubby hole out and replace with a double-din CD player and radio with no modification.

They sell the Beta and Gammas, but they are both tape players with CD changer control. I've got a Beta, and 6 disc CD changer fitted under the passenger seats.

Yes. It's just as easy to fit a double-din radio/CD player in the dash, but they are more expensive to buy. You can get a genuine VAG 6 disc CD changer for about £35-£40 on fleabay. You will also need the correct connecting cable, which are about a fiver.

ok cools, i have seen a cd changer on ebay, does it matter which one i get, or are they all the same.

Try in the breakers yard or on ebay to get a vw single cd player (a fairly new model which can play mp3's) then if you have i-tunes you can burn a mp3 cd which is as good as a 10 or 12 disc changer. I have one in my 2008 caddy and it's brill
