    Hi all,

I am thinking of getting a 07 Passat 2.0tdi dsg estate.
Budgets are tight so I am considering buying the S model. Its either that or a Vectra estate.

The main advantages(to me) i can see of the SE over the S are:

Front arm rest not essential but nice
12v socket it the boot- easy retro fit
Cruise control fairly essential - can it easily be retro fitted? i read about £230
Lumbar support- would be very nice.
I understand the SE has electric drivers seat. is it likely to have the wiring loom fitted ie could i search for an eleccy seat from a breakers?

    many thanks in advance

    Andy

    Hi welcome Andy

I went for the S due to the deal on offer at the time. The DSG swung the car for me. SE too much £'s for so little extra. Very happy with the car.

I have an after-fit armrest (£20) which does the job until something better comes along at a reasonable price.

Go for the CC, works great with the DSG, mine was £230 fitted at home.

Upgraded RCD300 to MP3 version, does the job but could do with rear door speakers at some point.

Added the chrome grill inserts too & upgraded headlight bulbs.

Have a look at my threads ashould find more info on various things.

From what I know, just 4 speakers in the fron doors & no wiring to the back. It can be done though but not one for removing the door cards!!

I've got a 07 1.9 tdi S saloon (company car) and the 2 things that irritate me the most are the missing front armrest and the lack of rear speakers. I can live without the rear speakers as I sit in the front but the missing armrest, and the cost of a replacement, annoys me.

It's just a fancy padded hinged cover that hides the plastic storage compartment underneath. It also doubles as the centre armrest. When I first picked the car up I asked if the cover had been removed and they told me that it was an option. I think it's over £150 from VW.

looking at the current vw spec it seems the S has 8 speakers now.
anyone any idea when 8 speakers were fitted as standard?

best i phone up motorpoint to check

    thanks

also i looked on vwspares.co.uk and they seemed to stock aftermarket am rests ( as opposed to console covers)
any one seen/used one of these?

    thanks
