Bonnet wont close

Need help my bonnet wont close completly, it catches so it doesnt fly up but it will not lock closed. Any advice thanks

Hi You need first to see if the locking devise is working,get someone to pull the lever which opens the bonnet,check if the locking devise opens and returns as you pull and release the lever.

Try lubricating the mechanism first, as it can become very stiff and stop closing properly.

Sometimes you need to ensure that the handle is back on its stops. Indication that lubrication is needed somewhere

The mechanism in the slam panel often sticks, clean the lock out and lube with some freeing oil (ie. WD40) and see if it improves matters. If you can get it working give it a nice smearing of grease to keep it moving.

Thanks for all the advice will give the lock a good clean and grease the lock hope its sorts out the problem.
