Hi. I had the same problem with my ABS light. Problem was the clock-spring . Easy to replace - you have to remove the drivers side air bag (disconnect battery and wait for a while before disconnecting air-bag) and steering wheel. Once replaced ABS error code will still need to be cleared though.
Funnily enough i've also had the same gear selector problem. Mine turned out to be a part coming loose on the selector rod. Its a pain to get to - under battery tray. I gave up trying and got a mate to do it - cost £90 all in.
    Good Luck.

Hi. I have the same problem on my Sharan with the airbag light staying on.
It is a common fault effecting certain years of Sharans.
It is a technical fault with the module.
I have taken mine back to the dealer, who reset it (for a charge) but 5 minutes later the light was back on! (I got my pennies back I can tell you!)
The only certain way to cure it is to replace the module with an updated one that doesn't have the fault but (because it's not an MOT failure ) I have yet to replace mine. The module is under the panel near the drivers feet. If you do replace it, let me know how it goes & if it's an easy, straight forward job, won't you?

Hope you don't mind me hi-jacking this topic.

Where exactly is the airbag module located?

I have a spare sharan that I'm using for spares and would like to swap modules.

I am still unable to locate the airbag module.

A local mechanic has had a computer attached and came up with the following codes -

00588 Airbag Igniter driver side N95 - sporadic: Value of resistance too great.

00532 supply voltage - sporadic: Signal too low

They have been reset and the airbag warning light is now out.

I'd still like to find the airbag module on my spares vehicle?
