Does anyone know if there is any chip available to my Audi A4 1.8 B8? What do you suggest, should I chip it after some miles or can I do it right now? Someone who can learn me something new?

Good question and one I wish I could answer. I am waiting for my 2.0 Tdi and am thinking of doing the same thing. If anyone could provide an answer for both petrol and deisel model it would make good reading.

Yes both of these can be done. The 1.8T I'm assuming is the TFSI engine this will need to be a chip as no one has cracked the coding on these ECU's yet but you will still see between 40-50hp and 70-90nm gains. The 2.0Tdi is a remap and can gain upto 50hp and 100nm.

Feel free to call me on 07756 190026.

    Thanks, Mark

    hey up fella,

try Custom Code, i had my A3 2.0tdi remap by them , it is brilliant, no flatspots at all and can be adjusted too,

i am awaiting the delivery on a 1.8T S-Line and have already asked the guys that did my A3 (psi tuning) about a Custom Code remap on my new A4, they assure me they can and it should take the 160ps standard up to 190-200ps, i will definately be having it done along with a new full exhaust and lowering.

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the 120 hp and 160 hp 1.8TFSI engines are the same? Especially if you want to chip the 120 hp compared to the 160 hp. I'm wondering when you chip both engines, can you achieve the same performance, because they are the exact same engines?

I have just modified a 1.8TFSI last week. With 206bhp and 358Nm, it is faster then the standard GTI. The problem with the new ECU is that VAG has spent over Euro 10 mil. to encript , and it will take sometime for someone to crack it. Our solution is a 'piggy-back' ECU, which is a "plug&play' device with Ram-air intake. My next stage is to change the K03 to K04 and try to make it to 240bhp.

    Hi Hodge,
We are working with a company in Athens on this new product. It will be available in 2 weeks. Price is approx. EU800. It is a bit pricey, but it is a 'plug& play' system, so it can installed on different vehicles with 1.8TFSI
It is unlikely anyone can crack the ECU in the near future and it's impossible to do it through OBDII. Big companies such as ABT/MTM has spent 6 months without success. The latest info was to resoldered the ECU but still has no 100% successful rate.

How much faster is it? 0-100 ? Top speed? Can you feel the power when you're driving it more than usual? What about the consumption?

The new RS4 is using the the old ECU. All the newer models such as the A4 8K, A5 uses the new ones. For VW side, all the new models from Golf VI will be using this new ECU, that's including the new Scirocco. The main reason VAG wants to lock it, is because of the fuel economy. From what I've tested(aggressively), the fuel consumption has increased slightly with the new device, but only around 5-10% level. For normal driving, it remains approx. the same. It was tested in a new A5 for 5 hrs in a race course, so no timed figures at the moment. I was driving a standard GTI on the same day, and the modified A5 feels faster than the GTI.
I've ordered a new 1.8TFSI A4 from ABT which is due for delivery in June. Most of the tune up parts are special ordered already, so when they arrived and tested, I'll let you guys know.
