    Hi,

I have a 2002 Audi S6. It's a great machine but I seem to be having an intermittent problem with acceleration.

What happens is that sometime when I come to a standstill, e.g at T junction, sometimes the car does not want to accelerate. The revs go up, but the speed goes up only very slowly. What I have to do is lift off and the press the accelerator again.

It happens in normal Drive and Sports mode, and I think in tiptronic mode as well.

I have taken it down to a VW garage who vag commed it but they did not spot anything.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the reply.

So it could be the MAF even though it only happens now and again and doesn't exhibit any of the other possible symptoms.

Another thing, I read on the net, an article about someone having a similar issue, but was told it might be the vacuum lines?

    BUMP..

Just got back from holiday so haven't checked the MAF yet.. but I have another question.

If the MAF sensor was dirty wouldn't that mean it would happen all the time, rather than happening now and again? i.e. car would constantly be slow accelerating instead of slow now and again.

And if anyone can explain why lifting off and then reapplying accelerator makes the car accelerate in a normal fashion, then please let me know as its just bugging me a bit.

Also, could the fuel filter cause that?

Just to reiterate.. no codes came up when my car was taken to garage.

    Thanks
