thanks for the suggestion of changing the air flow mass meter.
as you may of read that I had changed it for a couple of days but could'nt tell any difference, but that was before I had changed the cat and the turbo.
I'm willing to spend £130 to see if this solves the problem if it dont I think I'll give the car to a box of swan vesta's to play with. lol.

Hi Shagster,

I suggest the £35 diagnostic test, especially if you can get to Wilkinsons in Stockport.
Gotta be worth a £35 diagnostic after all you have done!

hi guys , i just recently bought a 1.8 t sport quattro a4 , rs kt the works i love it , and similar prob been happening to me , on diagnostic machine it says turbo boost exceeded maximum boost , car drives like turbo kicks in then dies off , have changed air mass meter today and now it splutters then turbo kicks in and it goes like a rocket but still splutters alot , what do i try next , please dont say new turbo??...
