MK4 Golf & A3 parts compatibility

Hello All

New to all this forum malarkey so be gentle! ! !

Seriously now, I’ve got an A3 1.8t and I know that it is practically the same as the golf MK4. I’ve brought various bits that have been advertised to fit the MK4 and have slipped straight on to the Auds’ (i.e. cold air induction, B&M quick shift, etc).

This is really annoying as there appears to be more advertised aftermarket parts available for the MK4 than for the A3 and most resellers are exactly that just box shifters and don’t actually know what is compatible with the A3 and what isn’t. So just to be on the safe side they always so “no, it wont fit”.

I’ve managed pretty well so far but one thing I am really struggling to find out is weather the MK4 golf strut braces (upper, lower & rear) will fit the A3. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME! ? ! ?

Come on, there must be some proper VAG head about that knows about this sort of thing?
