Front loading 6 CD changer

Hi there guys,

I just bought a 6 disc front loading cd player off some guy on ebay. I installed it and connected it to my gamma radio. When i turn the lights on for the car the gamma lights up but the only bits that light up on the changer are the red dots which confirm that a cd is inside the player.

Are the numbers on the changer suppose to light up or the eject or load buttons?

If they are supposed to light up, how do i get it to do this?

Can i just ask, i have a 6 cd changer in the boot, but its really annoying having to stop the car to get the changer, so it is as simple to just buy the front loading 6 cd one and put it above the radio, where the empty slot is, where you put sunglasses etc?

Thanks, sorry i dont have any answer to your question, although i thought that the number lights only light up when a cd is in that particular slot, then you select the button then put in a cd, and then select a button and press eject when you want to eject.

On my 2003 03 GT TDI, I fitted a 6 cd-changer in which i bought off eBay and replaced my old single CD. Only the red dots light up on mine, not the load or eject buttons.

You need to get an extra connection wire to make the CD player light up. It connects from the radio into the CD player to provide all those extra amps of power (?!!).(Strangely my 6CD changer off ebay came with one.... BONUS!) Then all your buttons will light up and you will be able to see what you are doing in the dark!

This is my first post... to it being a cure and not a questiion/problem eh?

Just re-read the original post and realised i made a slight error.

My eject and load buttons light up when i turn on the lights in the car, however, if the lights are not on the the six cd lights just come on.

In that case, everything is lighting up that should light up, when it should light up (Or not as the case maybe!).
