I used to update the car's built in maps every 6 months or so, when updates were released, but at the moment the newest version for my car is 27/11/2023.

Have they stopped updating them for my car? Would annoy me immensely if they have, given that the mapping is actually part of the dash display panel features nowadays! I also like the car's built in navigation system.

Couple of thoughts. Does your car still have a valid VW Connect agreement and does it still have an active mobile data connection.? You will certainly need the latter to get the map updates OTA, although I think you can download Mac direct from the VW website https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/myvo...ap-update.html Depending on the car and what was in place when it was first bought, it may or may not have had lifetime map updates. On newer cars VW has reduced the free update period (to 3 or even 2 years) unless you pay to extend the VW Connect subscription. Also without a mobile data connection you will not get any real time traffic data.

My car is a 2017 early mk7.5 car, and doesn't have the ability to download maps OTA. I've always just had to get them directly from the website, where they were freely available, and updated every 6 months. I assumed this would go on to be the case for quite a long time - until the car was 10 years old anyway.

I do still have an active mobile data connection and an active "Guide & Inform Basic" subscription for traffic updates etc on it, but its frustrating that the maps are now well over a year old.
