    Brake light bulb holder.jpg

I need to replace a Brake lamp / stop lamp bulb in my Golf Mk 7 2013. I cannot easily remove the bulb holder nor can I find any guidance in the Haynes manual, the VW manual or on YouTube. On YouTube it seems that posters have only given information showing a bulb holder being removed that's different to mine - maybe they are working on the Mk 7.5.

Although there is a Haynes video clip, that shows the mechanic gently pulling and the bulb holder which the slides off serenely. My bulb holder fits so tightly that I suspect it will break if I apply the level of force necessary to remove it. It feels as if there is a (an undisclosed) clip or something else that I am missing. Whilst using a mole wrench or chisel will give me great satisfaction, it's unlikely to provide a durable working solution. Any steer would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Solution found: after some days looking I found this video explains how to remove the stop/brake lamp bulb holder. The clue to be careful is in the video's words "many people break this". It took me less than a minute.
