    Hello,
I have a problem with the climatronic and wondered if anyone could shed any light on it. The car is a 2003 Passat Estate 130PD sport (diesel)

The air-con only blows hot air out and doesn't blow air into the footwells. I can adjust air flow and control the defroster/front vents fine.

My local garage hooked it up to VAG.com and came back with the following codes (sorry don't have full error codes):

    00603 Footwell/defroster flap -faulty
01271 temperaturee positioning flap (V85) -faulty
    01274 Airflow positioning motor (V71) - faulty

But the Local VW dealer quoted a price that included replacing 1 motor (the V71 I think).

Has anyone had a similar probem and found that replacing one motor cleared all the faults?

I'm reluctant to take it to VW for fear that they will turn around and say "but you need all these motors as well and it will cost twice as much." After all, these are the same people who told me that 505.01 oil would seize the engine...but thats a different story.

    Regards, Matt.

Hi there, Find yourself an independent vw/audi garage, they will be able to sort you out and it will be loads cheeper aswell.
Had an aircon problem a couple of years ago myself. My locoal independent garage corrected the fault in no time and also saved me £150 in the process.
Pity you don't live in milton keynes as i would recordmend Indie-tech to you.
Look in your local papers or yellow pages, their must be one near you.

In the end I went to local independent - they replaced 3 motors and also ended up replacing the climatronic module because the fault codes *still* wouldn't clear

Lesson learnt - swap in a recon climatronic module (approx £75.00) before ripping out the dash board to search for faulty motors (approx £700.00!!)
