Had my 2016 Q7 Almost a year now, and the only problem I was worried about having has now appeared

So I got a yellow warning on my dash for a fault in my air suspension last week. Only appeared first thing in the morning. By the time I grabbed a coffee on my way to work it disappeared for the rest of the day.

    VCDS fault codes:

    Compressor for suspension Level Control
    C118D 07 [008] - Mechanical Failure
    Intermittent...

    Pressure Accumulator for Level Control
    C11AF F0 [008] - Leak Detected
    Intermittent...

I guess it's stating the obvious 'leak', but to begin with I checked all of the level sensors at each wheel as I knew they had plastic arms which tend to break, like every Audi I've owned. But they were all fine.

Now the fault seems to have got worse as the compressor runs for a good 60+ secs then stops, yellow warning comes on, and none of the suspension settings can be chosen - Comfort, Off road etc...

    New VCDS fault codes:

The same fault code 'C11AF F0 [008] - Leak Detected' appears, and after a google search, there is a tech bulletin for a repair kit to correct a manufacturing problem. Anyone aware of this?

I would like to start at the compressor and work my way to each wheel to check for leaks but I can't find any info/diagrams on the Q7 4M. 7zap only has the old model version, is there another resource for the Mk2?

Any guidance would be much appreciated

    Ta.

Had an air suspension fault similar to this on my old 2017. It was a know fault where the air suspension line rubs on the chassis, eventually leading to a leak. Mine was repaired under warranty at the time.

IMHO there is only 1 fault - Leak Detected the rest being a knock on effect. i didn't check the log times - is this the first by any chance?

Just got the bad news from my mechanic after quite thorough testing, the compressor is shot. So the question is, OEM only? Or is there a decent after market compressor or brand to go for?

Hi - I’m replacing mine with a used one from eBay, off a vehicle that has been scrapped. Audi wanted £2.2k!

Just to throw in, you say thorough testing but does that include pressure testing all the lines without the compressor to check for leaks? Often air suspension compressors burn out because they are working harder/more often to maintain pressure due to small leaks.

@Razputin - how did you get on with the compressor replacement?
I had mine swapped for the replacement, but now getting dash warnings of faults…
    Did your system need recalibration?
    Thanks

    That’s perfectly understandable.
Would you expect a replacement compressor and valve block to be plug and play, or need further configuration/calibration?
    Thanks

These systems can be a real PITA if the calibrations get corrupted. A few months ago I went through torture with a Toerag 2 and it’s Porsche Active Suspension Management which is like yours with knobs on. The ECU flatly refused to play ball even using the dealer system ODIS and every time we set it level, after the ignition was cycled the front collapsed and the rear stuck its **** in the air. Eventually my friend used Autel to get it down into a workable rage when ODIS started working again. The PASM has the additional complication of a 10 Bar Nitrogen filled dual chamber air tank which uses the same fitting as the AC system so a standard air con system cylinder does the job.
