    Hi

I have a 50TDI A6 2019 model year and it requires new wipers, the ones on the car are worn so I ordered some new Valeo ones from the internet by searching for my car. The ones supplied have a small one that is the same as the original fit but the larger one is about an inch shorter than the one fitted at the factory. Has anyone found the right ones after market of do I have to buy from the main dealer?

All of the websites I looked at show the blades for the A6 as being one 20" and one 24". I know from previous experience that the rear wiper blade fitted at the factory is slightly longer than the 16" that everyone sells as a replacement. It may be that for the replacement market the manufacturers focus on blades that fit the widest range of vehicles to help manage inventory whilst at the factory that is not a concern. If you want a direct replacement for factory then then dealer is probably where to go. Worth going along and seeing what size the replacement blades they sell are.

thanks. yes it seems aftermarket seem to have 24 and 20 inch rather than the ones that came with the car. I had a broken windscreen replaced at the main dealer and I think they replaced the wipers at the same time so if I want the same size I need to go back to them.

My car has the washer jets built into the wiper arms (as a pipe with holes for the first half and then two jets for the second half) I am not sure if that is the same for all A6 C8s or just on mine.

Integrated washers in the wiper arms was an option (9PF - £375) on early C8 A6s, but I think when the revised the range by adding the Vorsprung version and dropping many of the options available to the other versions it dropped off the list - probably due to low take up.

Ah that makes sense, I did find online that to be careful with buying the wiper blades for the integrated washer type as some don't fit. I bought mine as an ex demo so seems to have lots of extras they did not seem to know about, so now i know!.

I think I might ask the main dealers for a price for the wiper blades.
