Have had my EGR Blanked and Deleted today, software correction carried out, and a stage 1 remap. This is on a 2.0 TDI A3 CFFB engine (with the EGR hidden down the back of the engine, hence the delete, not replacement). Picked it up after the work was complete, and yes it goes much better, no EGR fault code anymore, BUT, it is idling at 1000 RPM, and the engine fans are on all the time. Temperature is normal 90 degrees, and I'm not driving it hard, just been around town so far. I understand that the EGR was deleted at the front of the engine, AFTER the EGR valve. It's also suggesting changing down to 1st gear at 20mph on the dash which I've never seen before! (and am ignoring!)

    Any thoughts?

    Bob.

My 6.7 Cummins runs like a champ after replacing the CCV filter! It was getting rough idle and puffing white smoke, and after some research I knew a clogged CCV filter was likely the culprit. Replacing it myself was a breeze - just 30 minutes with some basic tools. Now the engine runs smooth and quiet, no more smoke! Replacing the ccv filter 6.7 cummins was a simple fix that made a big difference.
    Any thoughts?

It sounds like the EGR delete and remap have improved your A3's performance, but the high idle RPM and constant fan operation are concerning. It's possible that the EGR delete process has affected the engine's normal operation parameters. The gear change suggestion at 20mph could be a result of the ECU recalibration after the remap. I'd recommend checking with the technician who performed the work to ensure everything is configured correctly. It's also wise to scan for any new fault codes that might have appeared post-remap. Sometimes, these modifications can have unintended side effects that need professional attention to resolve.
