ELM327 OBDII Diagnostics

Does anybody have any positive experience in using OBDII to read error codes, live data etc.?

I bought an ELM327 Mini OBDII bluetooth reader and installed Android apps to my phone to read through it, but i cannot be successfull other than just reading speed, RPM, MAF value and 5 or 6 any other basic stuff.
I need injector readings and error codes for example.

There is also a DPF app for reading live soot volume but that app also failed.

which app? torque pro seems to be a good one but its been a while since i dabbled with my elm327.

I have OBDeleven, it used to be really good but recently with software updates functions seem top be dropping off.
I think they are more focusing on newer cars and the boy racer with joker lights and needle sweeps...

there is no replacement for VAG com, VCDS, maybe do a shout out and there could be someone local to you to give you a hand.

I tried 6/7 apps which have ratings greater than 4 stars on Google Play. Basic readings are all possible with most of them but "Injector MissFires", "last regen time" or "injector compensation values" are all N/A.

As the wife is not loyal to any brand i also got a Foxwell NT530 - it was pricy at £150 but allows me to ad software for other manufactures as she upgrades for a modest £50 or so with free updates . i have Honda Landrover/jag on there so far - thinking of sticking on VW as the obdeleven seems to be loosing its shine.

I ordered the below one couple of days ago. Will be delivered tomorrow. Seems to offer full VAG diagnostics and coding as per the info on the page and done you tube videos. It also comes with alligator clamps to use as a battery tester. I paid £26.

I also have a Bluetooth elm327 adapter. I find the Car Scanner app on Android very good. It can provide advanced diagnostics on some newer Audis but not for the C6.

I was only after a battery analyser and bumped into this on eBay. I am not really sure if I will use any of the offer functions.

doesn't look bad for £26 they have cut corners on the software as such its a bit like the c110 i had for BMW - it lists everything control unit possible for every iteration of build, not what is only fitted to the car its plugged into.

The c110 didnt have the quick scan function, you had to scan it and see if it was fitted and if there was a fault code. It was very time consuming i would like to see how the quick auto scan feature works.

you could be onto a winner for someone who only tinkers now and then making VAG com too dear.
