Hi does anyone know how often a fuel filter should be changed on 2.0 TDI? I signed up for the Audi service plan as they had 25% off and it had 2 services for £374 which seemed pretty reasonable for a dealer service, but when I came to book it in they recommended a fuel filter change and brake fluid change. I'm not bothered about the brake fluid as the car's not exactly old but I'm intrigued by the fuel filter.

Interestingly without the plan they quoted £660 for doing the lot when my local indie had quoted £300 (but not sure if they included filter or not).

Hahaha - brake fluid change is £70 on fixed price. 230 for a fuel filter change is a joke .
But given that they asked 155 + vat for the return fuel line that I ordered for 61 all in tells you the full story.

I would have thought that the fuel filter should be covered within the service plan during the oil + inspection service. It was certainly included in mine when serviced last year, but I'm driving the 3.0 TDI so maybe difference? I would definately question it if they are trying to charge you more for it. I wonder if the reduction in price has meant the fuel filter is no longer included, sneaky if so, indeed I nearly bought a new service plan during the offer, but decided against it as I have found a local independent Audi specialist?

Hi I had a 2 service plan for my second and third service, car has only done 35k MY2015. The second service should be a full service but as I had only done about 20k they did an interim and I asked if the fuel filter should have been changed. The reply was no as it should be around 30k but would be done next time as that would be a full service. Last year at 5 years old I had the service done at 33k they did the filter then as well as cam belt DSG oil and break fluid. All for around £900 including a brand new A5 for the day, very happy with that considering.
